  Brazilian Journal of Cartography Mission
The Brazilian Journal of Cartography is the official Journal of the Brazilian Society of Cartography, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (SBC). Its mission is to publish papers, book reviews and communications, as well as other topics of interest related to the field of Cartography, Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and correlated areas.

The manuscripts submitted to this journal to be published as a paper must be original and should present important research results in the fields of Cartography, Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and correlated areas; since they have not being published elsewhere. Relevant manuscripts, previously published in proceedings of conferences may be submitted for publication, since it is an enhanced version of the original paper. The papers may be written in Portuguese, Spanish or English, but preferentially in English, following the guidelines for publication in the RBC Journal.

The manuscripts in the form of communication and books review will be, in general, submitted by invitation of the Executive Committee and Associated Editors.

The responsibility of the papers published in the Brazilian Journal of Cartography is exclusively of the authors. If it were the case, the authors should obtain permission in order to publish materials eventually protected by copyright.

The paper review will follow the process of peer review. Each submission will be analyzed by at least two researchers that will blinded review the papers and will provide a merit report, which will be the base for the decision of the Executive Committee. Reconsideration analysis is allowed to those authors that have a negative report to their papers, which should be submitted with answers to the objection raised by the reviewers. The confidentiality in this process is essential, which have to be guaranteed by all participants in the process: reviewers and Executive Committee.
